"New Orleans is a state-of-mind. Every year around this time of year, Mardi Gras is an explosion of joyousness. You don't have to travel down to Louisiana to feel it. Its spirit resides in Mercer County in a little town called Ewing, where Joe Grillo leads The Gumbo Gumbas on a Cajun holiday all year round. The jump-blues, zydeco, rocl'n'roll, jazz, folk strains and oh such soul are on full display wherever they play. Now you can even share that feeling, that zest for life, that passionate embodiment of the groove, in your own home. Zydeland has to be the feel-good album of the year so far. Written, arranged, produced, sung and honked on his tenor sax, Grillo imbues Zydeland with a Bourbon Street beat. He's an honorary French Quarter denizen of the night. Of course, there's always time to invoke a little Tom Waits on highlight "Can't Go Back to New Orleans" The colors mix and mingle with tuba, banjo, guitar, violin, viola, cello, trombone, accordion, piano, bass, clarinet, soprano sax, trumpet and that penetration percolation percussion. Excuse me, I got to get on up and do the boogaloo. You just can't set still for this thing."

"GET READY TO BE BLOWN AWAY . . . I ran into a Nadine Simmons performance in a large public space on my way home one day. Let's say I skipped one ferry to enjoy the concert. As fate would have it, I was planning a large corporate event in the garden at my home and got in touch with Nadine. Needless to say, it was a spectacular success. This is star power! And, a very lovely human being"

"There are truly no words to describe how perfect Alkka and Chris’s duet was on our wedding day. From the very beginning, working with them was smooth and stress-free, they were always reassuring, helpful, and nothing ever felt like a problem. This was especially appreciated as we were planning a destination wedding without a planner and without speaking Spanish. On the day itself, they exceeded all expectations. They were absolutely incredible, better than we ever could have imagined. All of our guests commented on how amazing they were, not just as musicians but as warm, lovely people who were a joy to chat to. "We had found the band via social media, and they really made it a more special day for us. Before our big day we sit once with Stefano and he directly knew what we wanted. The communication was very good and very clear. The tea for three band was the best choice, it fits perfectly in the sciene of our wedding. "Due to COVID-19, we had frequent changes regarding our wedding date and wedding details. Philly Heart & Soul was not only accommodating to all of the changes we had to make on a daily basis but helped us problem solve as new challenges arose. Our entrances for the reception and first dance songs were wonderfully performed even with interesting song choices from the bridal party. We received compliments throughout the reception on the pure talent they possessed and how enjoyable they were to watch and dance to. They were full of enthusiasm, warm and friendly towards the guests, and professional throughout the night. Philly Heart & Soul is the best choice for your next event!"

They listened to our requests and managed to fulfill everything we had in mind. The result was truly exceptional!
