Review Centre: Big Bands

"There was one helluva great set of jazz this evening, when band leader and trumpet player Rick Holland brought nine fabulous musicians to the Pausa Art House including alto sax giant Bobby Militello, tenor sax wizard Andy Weinzler and baritone sax player Dean Keller, along with trumpet players Ron D’Angelo and Mark Filsinger, with trombonists Ken Crane and Brendan Lanighan, with Tom Kasperick on drums and bass player Emiliano Lansky, and with the very young, but very cool Harry Graser on piano. The great, blended horn sound provided a rock-solid ground for the wide-ranging, but sweetly swinging vocals of the young, very gifted Lindsey Holland. Do not ever miss a chance to hear this group in the future!"

"Just a short note to thank you ever so much for the great show and dance for us here at the HAG. I have waited until today to write this as we had a meeting on Wednesday and it confirmed everything that I told everyone about the upcoming show and dance. I was told, the band said this was the first time you have played in a hanger and I must say, the acoustics were awesome and the sounds were great even where I was sitting. At the time I thought you had more than enough on your plate but how in hell did you save the song "At Last" for the very last number. It was the very song I would have requested and it back to my Junior and Senior days in high school. Nuf said about that. Yup, I might have had a small tear in my eye, hearing the music, you absolutely stunning! And the Band, exceeded my expectations. Got to get you guys back—Rick Holland is just a splendid musician!!"

His exceptional talents as an instrumentalist go without saying. But he is a dependable and hugely reassuring presence onstage and great fun off it. A real asset to any ensemble. "WOW, we are totally lost for words, what an EPIC performance and evening with you. There is nothing we wanted more from our wedding than for our friends and family to be laughing, smiling, singing and dancing. Because of you this was how the whole evening went. "The Las Vegas Experience was a great show for our Christmas Party. Music for all tastes with a fantastic singer and musician performing with a full light show and great sound. Marty is a true professional and a gentleman, nothing was too much trouble and provided a good DJ service as well."

"From the very beginning Rock Tonight were just excellent. Laura was the person I was in contact with most and her response time was super quick. She was always very reassuring and accommodating and the band helped make the wedding day run so smoothly. I really enjoyed the covers that we'd asked them to learn and the whole band had such a wonderful presence. Loved their set list and the performance on the night of the wedding was fantastic. Lots of guests were asking how we found Rock Tonight and we're very glad we did! She's got a great voice, the band's sound was exactly what we wanted and really helped the energy on the wedding. I couldn't recommend them enough!"
