Review Centre: Swing Bands

"We knew we wanted someone to sing at our mum's funeral as it was a church service with under 40 people attending. Through word of mouth, we were lucky to find Sarah. I reached out to her and she could not have been more lovely, professional and reassuring. At the worst time of our life we found her just so empathetic in a professional way and intuitive. She gladly liaised with the funeral director and the organist and gently took our worries away by suggesting what would be best. The organist wasn't great in my opinion and played a few dodgy notes but Sarah's singing did not falter. She was impeccable. Whilst we were sad, I felt Sarah honoured my mum with the most beautiful heartfelt transcendent voice...singing those hymns she was mesmerising and felt without her input and wonderful performance the service would not have been a tribute in the way that it was. Mum would have loved her, as did everyone. I don't give praise lightly but she was incredible and I connot praise her lovely personality, compassion and spellbinding voice enough. "Stellar, professional, & swingin!!! We booked this trio for one of our larger institutional events that we host twice a semester. They were phenomenal! I cannot sing their praises enough. They added just enough ambience, swing, and mood to the dinner setting for our guests. We will definitely be booking the Simon Burke Trio again and again!"

"Absolutely beautiful voice. My mum booked Annelise for our wedding. I could not believe how perfect she was. Not only did she come dressed perfectly and her voice was just incredible. She just made our special day even more special. The songs were just fabulous and just right. I definitely want to hear her again."

"Fantastisch optreden Happy & The Two Tones verzorgden de muziek tijdens ons diner, wat precies aansloot op onze wensen. Het trio heeft het totaalplaatje waarbij de aankleding, de prettige communciatie en ook flexibiliteit ter plekke erg fijn is. Daarnaast kan Happy prachtig zingen en was het heerlijke muziek om naar te luisteren. Zeker een aanrader"

"After just completing out wedding in Positano, Italy, we can’t speak highly enough of the crew at Good Time Soul Foundation and would highly recommend them. Importantly, everyone loved the music played by Good Time, meaning we had everyone up dancing all through the night, really enjoying themselves. The band were incredibly lovely and accommodating and just wanted my wife and I to enjoy our special day. Despite the fact that it was raining heavily during the ceremony, they stood out in the rain and played an acoustic set for us (we didn’t even need to ask). We worked with Good Time Soul F. for a number of years as our wedding was delayed many times due to COVID (initially from May 2020 to May 2023). In all of our dealings with Good Time, they were very prompt to reply and incredibly flexible/accommodating. In fact, despite our venue being difficult around certain issues, Good Time Soul Foundation communicated with them in the background and just reverted when things were resolved. Finally, no request for Good Time Soul F. was too large. Upon our request, they sang specific songs in Italian, they learned new songs, excluded songs from their playlist, etc. "

"TIBI Events were absolutely incredible. We had them for the whole wedding day: a string trio for the ceremony and then their DJ and saxophonist for the party. They were just wonderful. We would highly recommend them, so professional, attentive to what you want, and truly amazing musicians. They are so talented at what they do. Thank you so much. "Sometimes it all just falls into place. The setting, the situation, the scene, the tone -- everything is going your way. That describes last night for me. And at the heart of this mid-week Xanadu was the Rick Holland Uptown Orchestra, a modest, brass-centric outfit led by the trumpet-blowing Holland that swung with equal parts effervescence and laid-back cool at Lovin Cup. And come to find out, five of his Hollands regular guys were sidelined, and the holes on the bandstand were plugged with subs --- hired music muscle like Po’ Boy Erik Jacobs on the slide trombone. By the time the Orchestra heaped on a helping of Count Basie, there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I dragged my mom out in the cold for this show and she was thrilled when they stomped on the Savoy. Holland led the affair with a relaxed air, coaxing more than conducting under his porkpie lid. He went around the bandstand numerous times so every cat there got his fair shake, including pianist extraordinaire Bill Dobbins. This is one sweet band, yes, yes. Frank De Blase, Roch City News "

Everything has been managed with the utmost professionalism by Antonino is his staff that has always been super helpful and has fulfilled all our requests. I am really very satisfied with the value for money, super recommended! "

"Absolutely the best!! All the guests at the reception commented on the band. I asked them to add a horn section, so we had an eight piece band and their soundman. The soundman went the extra mile and provided sound for the outdoor wedding ceremony also, and during the cocktail hour, some of the band members provided an acoustical set before the reception officially began. My daughter wanted a lot of the Sinatra sound and they delivered. She and her father danced to Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon" (George is a corporate pilot) and I will never forget the sight they made as they danced. A memory to hold forever in my heart and the memory definitely has the sound!! You can not go wrong with this band, whatever sound you want. And I think that they actually gave me more than I paid for. Truly marvelous and professional musicians!! My daughter's "do not play" list was basically "nothing cheesy". They were perfect and worth every penny."

Excellent musicians, they provided a superb selection that matched the mood and wants of our guests.
