"Before seeing this show I had heard many rumours about Harmonica Lewinsky, whose background was shrouded in mystery, although I believe he learned his harmonica skills in the Deep South in the deltas of Harrow on the Hill under the tutelage of Blind Les Battersby. But, it was a very different character to the one I expected who performed at the posh Victoria pub in Highgate! Mr Lewinsky, looking like a cross between a rabbi and one-half of Chas 'n Dave (I'm not sure which half) appeared in cloth cap and braces and presented a highly original selection of songs, some of which rarely see the light of day. There were no predictable “Brown Eyed Girls” or “Mustang Sally’s” here: instead - a veritable feast of the unexpected - as we witnessed one man, his guitar and his trusty harps. When was the last time you heard a pub act kick off his set with Chas 'n Dave's “The Sideboard Song” and follow it with the Theme to “Top Cat” and then offerings of cheery, chirpy Cockney ditties including “Waiting At The Church,” “Maybe It's Because I'm A Londoner”, “Show Me The Way To Go Home” and Tommy Steele's “What A Mouth”? I’m guessing the answer to that question is ‘rarely’ (if ever) but the fun didn't stop there. Mr Harmonica Man is a really great entertainer and demonstrated, with great finesse, his harmonica technique on - wait for it - the Shadows' “Apache”! It was quite a feat playing the melody on the harp while strumming his guitar. ‘Harmy’, as he is known to his close friends (or 'Self-Harmy‘ to others) also tackled in the first half the theme to "The Flintstones"; Elvis Costello's catchy “Watching The Detectives” and the Cockney knees-up “I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts”. Harmy was back in terrific Pearly King form for the second half starting with “Any Old Iron” followed by a touch of the Formbys with “Leaning On A Lamppost” after which he did a ‘Donegan’ with a riotous version of “My Old Man's A Dustman” complete with enthusiastic audience participation. Mr Lewinsky has a great sense of humour, which he constantly shares with the Victoria regulars. "Here's another Cockney classic sung by a Welsh man", quipped Harmy before diving into “Delilah.” Other gems included the theme tune to ‘Match Of The Day’ (played on two harmonicas); a very funny and risque interpretation of Mike Jerome's “Sling Yer Hook”; a great version of the Small Faces' mod anthem “Lazy Sunday”; and a yahoo rendition of the old country favourite “Riders In The Sky”. After many encores Mr Lewinsky packed away his cap and braces and headed off to the Deep South (of London) for some pie and mash. The Victoria would do well to snap up Harmy for some more gigs before he hop-foots it down the Strand for a residency at the Old Bull and Bush!"

From Classic jazz numbers to crooners and everything in betweent they had it all covered. A huge Thankyou for bringing something back of which we have been missing. Fabulous entertainment with songs and music we can relate to and all sung to perfection. Thankyou. I will be following you in your Socials now hoping to catch you on future gigs. Cheers M "

"We all had a wonderful night. The band were excellent playing exactly what we wanted, bringing back memories of the 60's. Within a few minutes of them starting to play the dance floor was full and stayed that way all night. The band members were friendly and could not do enough to make the experience perfect. At the end everyone was saying how good they were, so many compliments. We would definitely rebook if there is another occasion to allow us to do that. "

"What can I say, Jess was amazing, the best singer we've had. The residents were singing and dancing from the first song till the last. She engaged with everyone with her warm, friendly personality and wide array of songs. If you look for an artist for your event then look no further, you won’t be disappointed Thank you so much. "Kit was booked to perform at a adult / children’s party. Kit was excellent and managed to blend the first set into an entertaining piece for the adults and kids. To a second set which was a perfect piece for a transition and background piece while w rate food and the kids relaxed. The third set was much more upbeat, grey for the adult entertainment and brought an excitement to the evening. I would not think twice about hiring Kit again. He manage our requirements perfectly , by listening to what we required and delivering on every request. The feedback from all our guests was exceptional! Thank you Kit and hopefully we will see you at the next event. Roy and family"

"As a great lover of Gipsyjazz for over 40 years, I went to a great concert of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet last weekend with the addition of two world famous musicians on violin and guitar, Tim Kliphuis and Mozes Rosenberg. The six-piece formation brought a great ode to gipsyjazz with beautiful solos on guitar and violin and also beautiful subdued numbers sung by Marcia Bamberg. It was a great experience and a recommendation for everyone who loves gypsy jazz to visit future concerts."

"Ο Στέφανος και η παρέα του είναι απίστευτοι! Εξαιρετικοί μουσικοί, κάνουν πολύ κέφι, και έχουν μεγάλο ρεπερτόριο για όλα τα γούστα. Μας προσέφεραν μια υπέροχη βραδιά γεμάτη χορό και μελωδίες. Πραγματικοί επαγγελματίες και καλλιτέχνες! Τους συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα!"

"The band were absolutely fantastic at our wedding. Perfect in every way, both for those who just wanted to sit and listen with a drink, and for those who wanted to dance and be silly (which was pretty much everyone, by the end). They were wonderful from start to finish! "

"Hi Jen, Thank you again so, so much for making our party so memorable. You were absolutely brilliant and we are so happy that we managed to find each other via the power of the internet. Your song selection was totally spot on all through the night and we really enjoyed dancing and listening to you. In particular, thank you for finding the time to learn and sing ‘our song’, which we had as the first dance on our wedding day. You performed it beautifully and it meant so much to us. I hope it is now added to you repertoire. Please let me know if there is anywhere you want me to leave a review, and I will always be very happy to give direct feedback if a prospective client ever wants a testimonial. It was lovely to meet you. We will always remember our party which you made so special for us, and we hope we can find an excuse to book you again at some stage in the future. With our very best wishes, Trevor & Claire x x"
