"Sunday afternoon brunch with live music, or Saturday night music matters series at Liberty & Plenty distillery. A great demographic of patrons. Indoor and outdoor seating and performance area. Very low pressure environment for musicians. "

"We didn’t expect it to be THAT good. From romantic to full-on vibe, he just knew what to play. Guests were literally asking for his details the same night."

"These guys are simply brilliant. Forget any notion you might have of boring brass bands, as these guys are vibrant and will get any crowd on their feet. If you need a band for that extra buzz, then I highly recommend these guys!” "

"Wow wow wow! These guys were absolutely incredible! Words can’t describe! We hired the NQBB for our wedding back in October and we think it was the best wedding decision we made! Will was super through all stages of the process, from enquiries before booking, through to set list selections and sorting out logistics, he was so friendly, with excellent communication and always had time to answer our queries. On the day itself they arrived in plenty of time to set up and you could tell the guests were getting excited for what was to come. It was what we were most looking forward to about the day and it more than exceeded our expectations! What was wonderful was seeing everyone dancing - all the generations. They are such amazing performers and so engaging getting all on the dance floor involved! Our guests are still raving about ‘THE band’ and rightly so! Thank you so much NQBB, you most certainly made the day!"

"We booked the Strayhorns for our wedding and we couldn't have made a better decision. They led our wedding party between venues and totally set the mood for the day. They are great people to deal with and their superb musicianship, fun and energy was a true highlight of our day. Thanks so much guys, J & E xx"

"Review of Trilby - The liner notes inform us that this ensemble started as a swinging dance band in 2005. Since then, they've evolved into a solid, well-arranged outfit with first rate solos played by intriguing, skilled jazz cats. The feeling I derived from the CD was similar to a classic Blue Note session. You know, several well-written originals that are melodically strong, and a few standards to test the players' chops on familiar material. The co-leaders play flugelhorn and trombone, respectively. Most of the arrangements come from pianist Bill Dobbins, who allows plenty of room for free-swinging solo work. The familiar vehicles here include Benny Golson's "Stablemates" and Sonny Stitt's "Eternal Triangle." I also spotted a tune called "Rich's Call" by Kerry Strayer, a baritone player of the highest stripe, and a skilled composer and arranger as well. It is interesting to note three compositions from jazz harmonica whiz, Hendrik Meurkens. Perhaps he has some connection to the band. Finally, it should be said that this session is directed straight down the middle of the bop highway. Simply an outstanding blowing session on songs that, amazingly enough, sound like songs!"

"We had Judikael play sax alongside our DJ at a very short notice and he did not dissapoint! He was amazing! We're a UK couple who got married in France and we were a little aprehensive due to the language barrier, but Judikeal absolutely smashed it! We couldnt thank him enough for saving the day when our previous sax player cancelled at such short notice. Judikael was stationary as well as walking and having a boogie on the dancefloor whilst playing sax along with the music. He really made some songs his own and made them sound even better. He was honestly absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much Judikael, you were amazing! 10/10 would recommend!!"

"Dan played at our wedding and it was absolutely perfect, I highly recommend him! He played background jazz saxophone in the venue courtyard while our guests were having reception drinks and canapes. Our guests loved it. We chatted to Dan about the kind of music and atmosphere we wanted to create for our rustic wedding and he did the rest and came up with the most perfect set. My husband is very musical so it meant a lot to him that Dan created such an excellent atmosphere"

"Mark was fantastic throughout, the music was perfect for the setting and venue. He took up a fab position during the drinks reception that made for some great photos; a lot of the guests were raving about him. Mark also took the time to learn some songs that were personal to us for the first dance. Couldn’t fault him and would book him again if we have another celebration in the future! "

"With all the hype going to Wynton Marsalis, you might not guess that there are other, lesser-known, straight-ahead trumpet players out there who are consistently ripping the hide off the ball. This, Rick Holland's auspicious debut, is an impressive effort. The trumpeter leads his quartet, backed by a solid Michigan-based rhythm section: pianist Terry Lower, bassist Ed Fedewwa, and drummer Larry Ochiltree, through a fiery trail of originals and standards, interspersed with some fine balladry. Holland's sensitive ear translates to some tight arrangements and a well-organized program. On flugelhorn, he boasts a rich, full tone that purrs with warmth. On the faster tunes, he steams. This is the kind of jazz that feels just right on a wintry day, with the fireplace in full throttle, and the feet resting on a cushion: it hits the spot perfectly, drenched with emotional power and skillful fortitude. "Cannot thank m-SAX enough. I had Mark to play sax at my husband's surprise 50th birthday party as its something he has always loved - music/ibiza/sax. This was an amazing night and everyone commented how good Mark was on sax. We would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be having him again without a doubt. Thanks for making Dean's birthday and everyone's night one to remember you were truly amazing."
