Review Centre: Brass Musicians

"Just a short note to thank you ever so much for the great show and dance for us here at the HAG. I have waited until today to write this as we had a meeting on Wednesday and it confirmed everything that I told everyone about the upcoming show and dance. I was told, the band said this was the first time you have played in a hanger and I must say, the acoustics were awesome and the sounds were great even where I was sitting. At the time I thought you had more than enough on your plate but how in hell did you save the song "At Last" for the very last number. It was the very song I would have requested and it back to my Junior and Senior days in high school. Nuf said about that. Yup, I might have had a small tear in my eye, hearing the music, you absolutely stunning! And the Band, exceeded my expectations. Got to get you guys back—Rick Holland is just a splendid musician!!"

"We particularly wanted a soul band and during our seemingly endless search of bands we were just drawn to The Soul Department! They played at our evening wedding reception earlier this month. Good reviews usually state pros and cons however, the band genuinely do not have any cons! They were professional from the onset, sounded incredible, looked incredible, great repertoire, were brilliant fun and had our wedding party rockin'!!! From start to finish they had our guests on their feet, we loved every minute! Exactly what we wanted! Cannot recommend these guys enough, worth their weight in gold, definitely will book them again, no question!! Thank you, you were amazing!! Melanie Cook xx"

"Thank you Big Smoke Brass for making our wedding so special. We wanted to find a band who did something a bit different, and who could play to a wedding crowd without being too ‘cheesy’. I’m so glad they were able to make our wedding in Wales; they were incredible. From the start, they were flexible about what songs we wanted them to play and were quick to respond - all while being amazing musicians who I’d love to see play all over again. They really judged the mood of the evening and both of their sets were brilliant. Everyone left the evening wanting to know who the band were, how we found them...or wanted to pick up a tuba and start learning. Thank you, thank you! "

"You made our event go with a real swing and added to the sunshine of everyone’s day! Your musical skill brought so much pleasure, especially because you played the trumpet as well as singing all our favourites. You had a lovely way with the residents and were so inclusive that everyone wanted to get up and join in. It’s a good job you brought a second microphone and some instruments for us to play! Staff, residents and visitors were all up dancing and we have the photographs to prove it! "Amazing! Rick Holland Productions worked seamlessly with our wedding, where we had three separate "performances" that were adpated to by Rick's use of different members of the Little Big Band. We had a cocktail reception where a trio played, then a brass quartet accompanied our Wedding ceremony. After our guests were transported by horse-drawn carriage to a lake side reception site, the Little Little Big Band got things started and the full Little Big Band played the night away to the extreme pleasure of our entire party. They even let Joe Robinson jam with them in the chill of the autumn, fire-lit evening! Thank You so much Rick! Matthew Cooper, Bradford, PA"

"Hired this excellent band for my wedding and they did not disappoint. They performed a great variety of songs that had people up on the dance floor all night. I would definitely hire these guys again if I were having a big enough party, or failing that see them perform in London would be great."

"Outstanding! Deep Down Brass played at our wedding reception and were truly amazing. Adam and the rest of boys were great from start to finish. Communication with the band was quick and easy. They responded to dozens of questions we had in advance of the big day (usually within the hour) and helped to put together a wonderful playlist, accommodating several specific requests. They put our minds at ease with their responsiveness and professionalism. On the day, the band arrived on time, set up quickly and quietly and proceeded to play two wonderful 50min sets ranging from our first dance to some rather drunken dancing late in the evening. With a rather small wedding, we were concerned that no one would be dancing, but Deep Down Brass had everyone up and on the dance floor with their amazing music and infectious energy."
