Review Centre: Party Bands

"Rewind2Play is a duo who make creative music videos. When they perform live, they do so in front of a big screen with a video playing in the background to match the song they are playing. Rewind2Play have over 50 videos on their youtube channel. These videos are very entertaining, amusing and original. One of their videos, a cover of Iko Iko, has had 200,000 views. Whilst most of their songs are covers, to cater for market needs, Rewind2Play also have several original songs, one of which I forecast will become a smash hit (I said that once before, when I first heard Joe Cockers version of I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends). I have seen Rewind2Play at several gigs, and the effects of playing in front of an entertaining video of them also playing the same song works exceedingly well, particularly some of the stunning backdrops/scenery and the amusing touches. The crowds love it, they pack the dance floor and they sing along. And multitasking, such as singing and dancing at the same time makes for thirsty work, so the bar sells a few bevvies to keep everyone lubricated. Mark is a Liverpudlian who writes the original songs, so there are a few Beatles covers in here too! Maybe when he is in Denton (Manchester), Mark will get a few more hats to add to his collection to make more videos. I'm expecting Rewind2Play to be very warmly received in the UK for their novel originality and creativity, and for the obvious love between Mark and his wife Aimee which illuminates many of the videos. "Christina and Harry recently played at our wedding and Wow they were amazing! After listening to their music we just knew they were the right choice for us. We chose two songs for them to perform (entrance and exit of the ceremony). They put their own spin on the songs, which was amazing, the duo are so talented! They also played a set at our drinks reception and received nothing but great compliments from our guests. We also loved the extra mile they went to by providing us with a video clip of the entrance song. We love watching it back! We highly recommend this duo for any occasion!"

"Being one of their biggest fans, I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't see ETM regularly. These guys are hugely entertaining and never disappoint. Lead singer Milo has a really good voice, great stage presence, and never fails to get the crowd going. Love this band!"

"I wanted a swing/jazz band for my wedding, and oh boy, did they deliver! They were swinging, and lively; their repertoire was quite expansive. They reached out to ask if I had any specific songs and then added additional pieces that suited the style I wanted. We contracted them for both the ceremony and the reception, we had a 3 piece band for the ceremony (piano, bass, and sax) They showed up early and set up with no extra help needed, played some gentle jazz music until the ceremony began, and even added in a drummer for no extra charge. I flip-flopped on the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to until almost the very last moment, and they were incredibly understanding and flexible. For the ceremony, we requested a 7 piece band so it could be boisterous and fun. There was almost no time that the dance floor was empty from the moment they began playing, even though the music they played was a sort of old-school jazz that few people know how to properly dance to. They played so well and brought such an element of joy and fun, that all our guests felt comfortable enough to dance all night. We learned how to swing dance for our first dance (Louis Armstrong, 'Bout Time), and the band played it to perfection (even if we didn't dance it perfectly LOL). This moment is one I will treasure forever, it was exactly as I had wanted it to be. For the rest of the night, they played off a setlist of a few songs I gave them and filled in the rest with their own recommendations. The singer has the most beautiful voice, all the band members play perfectly, I felt like I was in a 1920s jazz bar which was exactly what I had wanted. We had guests approach us all throughout the night, and even now to ask who the band was and to congratulate us on such a fun event. If you want a band that can swing, rock, and any other musical verb you like, this is the band you want. They were so communicative, helpful, and perfectly able to understand my vision. To the Orignal Moonlighters: thank you for making my wedding as special as it was."

"POSTING ON BEHALF OF THE MARLOW BOTTOM PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE: Following a fabulous event last weekend, once again, JBMAC had the audience out of their seats and dancing to an Ibiza club groove! Young and old alike were seen bopping along, even with a late afternoon slot and the delicious smell of food wafting across the field, the energy from the stage and the crowd was unyielding! One attendee said ‘I loved them, banger after banger, a right little afternoon rave!’"

They performed a special song requested by my wife for the ceremony, which made the moment unforgettable. Afterwards, they played during the aperitif and throughout dinner, creating the perfect atmosphere. "We needed a band for our wedding in Lisbon. Given we had a themed wedding (rock and heavy metal), we’ve been looking for a band playing in this genre. We were so glad to have found Rocktonight, and when they sent us their setlist, there could be no other choice! We aren’t from Lisbon ourselves and all our guests were coming from somewhere else, so looking for a band had to be done remotely, and we weren’t able to meet the band in advance. But the communication with the band was great, with Laura replying to all our questions promptly. In addition, we somehow managed to pick the hottest day of summer for the wedding, but Laura and co. took up that challenge! They have been absolutely awesome! Not only they made everybody dance (mainly, jump), but they also learned our wedding song (a ballad by Steel Panther), which wasn’t an easy one to learn. Needless to say, all our guests were amazed by the band too! We doubt the party would have been the same without them. Highly recommended!"
