Review Centre: Swing Bands

"We had Igor and Mathew (2 person band - Piano + stand up bass) play during my mother’s 65th birthday celebration at a restaurant with about 80+ guests. I can’t tell you enough how much everyone appreciated and enjoyed their performance and music. They sound so amazing, playing perfectly as the party went on. They played passive jazz with a mix of bossa nova which were a perfect blend for our theme and guests. Igor and his band were very professional, on time, flexible, and very patient with our loud and crowded guests. He is easy to communicate with and is very transparent and clear. Music wise, I couldn’t believe we were able to have this band play for us as they were nothing short from perfect. Amazing people"

"Having Wajdi C. perform at our private event was such a wonderful experience. From our first messages to the last song of the evening, he was professional and easy to work with. His piano playing was elegant, expressive, and created exactly the mood we were hoping for. "As a great lover of Gipsyjazz for over 40 years, I went to a great concert of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet last weekend with the addition of two world famous musicians on violin and guitar, Tim Kliphuis and Mozes Rosenberg. The six-piece formation brought a great ode to gipsyjazz with beautiful solos on guitar and violin and also beautiful subdued numbers sung by Marcia Bamberg. It was a great experience and a recommendation for everyone who loves gypsy jazz to visit future concerts."

"A beautiful performance in the Lisettezaal of cultural center De Brink in Obdam on Sunday December 15th. A beautiful interplay of 4 musical friends, who played alternating gypsy swings. With personal stories told by Marcia , it was a true theater performance. The audience enjoyed the musicians and their playing. Recommended."

"On Sunday 24th February the ‘David Hitchen Sextet’ sounded like a band that had played together for years. The superbly presented performance had everything…a well planned repertoire, cleverly arranged charts and playing of the highest level. The fact that the six musicians met to perform together for the very first time only two hours before the gig, was quite beyond belief and had David not mentioned it during his announcements no-one would have known.
