Review Centre: Dance Bands

"I got an all-clear result from my PCR Test yesterday, so last night I ventured out to the Jam House to see how much the Brummie music culture had advanced during my almost 2-year absence. Last nights gig was a new venture called Reggae Winehouse a Brummie band with three vocalists doing Reggae versions of Amy Winehouse's repertoire. I liked the idea, and so did a lot of other Brummies who turned out to make a fantastic night. I am old enough to remember when the Windrush Generation started to arrive in Brum bringing their love of music and enjoyment with them. A few of that generation were present last night along with their grandchildren. By the time that the second set started the Jam House was bouncing around St Pauls Square and you couldn't tell the difference between the multiple ethnicities on the dancefloor, we were all just Brummies filled with Joy. I semi walked semi danced on my way home in the early hours, thinking to myself how lucky I am to be a Brummie. The Jam House did our City proud last night, and after 10 years I finally saw the lead singer I always knew was in there. "We were indeed very fortunate to be introduced to Girl Friday ensemble whilst on a 2hour sunset cruise of Maloolaba canals. Girl Friday did not stop. From Classic jazz numbers to crooners and everything in betweent they had it all covered. A huge Thankyou for bringing something back of which we have been missing. Fabulous entertainment with songs and music we can relate to and all sung to perfection. Thankyou. I will be following you in your Socials now hoping to catch you on future gigs. Cheers M "

"We saw Girl Friday in Toowoomba last year and were very impressed. They have a great range of music and it was obviously impressing a number of the other patrons as they were up and dancing. The musicians are all very accomplished and very sensitive to the situation. I was very impressed with the band."

"We booked John Paul Band for a corporate gala in the Frankfurt area and the performance was outstanding from start to finish. The band created an elegant atmosphere during dinner and later turned the evening into a high-energy party with a full dance floor. Very professional communication, punctual setup, great sound, and a fantastic repertoire. Our guests were impressed and we would book them again anytime."

"Party Singers duo played at my birthday celebration in Kaikoura. Absolutely fantastic! Great selection of music played, I've had lots of good comments from the crowd also. "Mike and the Secrets have a great diversity of songs. They are a tight band with a lot of energy. I especially enjoy their bluesy numbers. They play good covers and their original works are pretty cool. They will certainly get your party started!"

Without YOU, our wedding would have NEVER been the fabulous event it was, which has everyone who participated in or attended it, including the staff at the Valley Hunt Club commenting that it was the best wedding EVER!!!! What you provide is transcendental, and definitely a cut above the rest of the countless and mundane assortment of the Southern California wedding DJ's. "It’s was my sons 30th birthday party and I’m so happy I found U Select. It was so exciting being able to customise everything. All the singers U Select sent where incredible and it make choosing very difficult, but we loved Graham’s style as our son loves rock / indie music. The band were so good and I can’t believe how much of a performer Graham is, so much energy and wow, what a voice! Our son was so happy that the band where able to play all his favourite bands like Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters & Paramore. So glad I found U Select!"
