Review Centre: Ceilidh Bands

"A few friends and I went to see Gaelforce at the Old Grocers in Pontefract on Friday. What a fantastic talented bunch of musicians these guys are. They delivered punchy folk rock songs, which are mostly their own with a few individual interpretations of some classics throughout the night. Brilliant stuff and highly entertaining. A great venue too, and cannot wait for them to return."

"14th Feb 2020. Vijverpark Festival. Always good fun to see Bob Ferguson on stage. A good singer and the audience is always engaged and involved. If you're in for some good music and fun, Bob's your uncle! A good variety of songs also."

"Over the years Spectra have used Bob Ferguson and his bands Celtic Horizon and Beggars Row to entertain many of our corporate clients. Bob is a natural charmer, has a great voice and delivers many traditional and more contemporary songs with great style. He always has fun on stage, loves to interact with guests and uniquely can always be relied on to read the room so that audiences feel they are part of the experience. We love having Bob play for our clients!"

"I couldn't recommend the Brogues enough if you are looking for a band for your event, they were absolutely fantastic. They played at our wedding and were the highlight of the day. I had been worried that we didn't have enough guests to make a Ceilidh 'work' (we only had 27 people), but from the moment I first got in touch with Grace she was really flexible and was able to work out exactly how to get all the guests involved and make the evening really special <3 I can't thank you all enough !"

"Hi all, We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for last week. You were so fantastic, and we've had so many people say to us how much they loved the ceilidh. Those from Kent loved getting involved for the first time, and those from Edinburgh and Inverness have said it was the first time in ages they've wanted to join in with one. "Blag were really exactly what we were looking for! I don't live in London so I was nervous about choosing a band I hadn't heard play, but they sounded great online, and I spoke to Michael over the phone and on email about the type of party we were having and the music we wanted. Most importantly they played brilliantly on the night, everyone was up out their seats for a good knees up and we were guided round the dances that we didn't know. All the guests were happy. Would definitely recommend!"

"Blag played for our office Christmas party and were brilliant. Their music was great and the caller was very charismatic getting everyone involved in the dancing. They were really easy to book and very flexible and accommodating with our requirements. We had great feedback from everyone at the party and I'd really recommend this lovely, friendly band."

"I would totally recommend Wraggle Taggle Wraggle Taggle were professional, very accommodating, and went down a treat (9th February 2019 Saturday The King's Royal Hussars Officers' Mess, Tidworth Garrison, Wiltshire, SP9 7BB). They offered both amplified and non-amplified music and using their amplifiers were able to hold a full room of 90 loud and merry party goers. I would totally recommend Wraggle Taggle for any party or event and if the theme lent itself, I would, without doubt, use them again Best wishes Seb Teuber, The King's Royal Hussars 22nd February 2019"

"A2 Barn Dance provided a reel party for our daughter's 18th birthday party - what a night it was! They were very friendly and professional from the booking stage all the way through to the last note. They quickly realised our level of proficiency on the night and adapted their playing accordingly. In addition to being consummate musicians, they are really pleasant to deal with and supportive. I thoroughly recommend them."
