Review Centre: Ceilidh Bands

"A very special experience for us, was when a Sunday in June, for the first time we held a house concert. The Artist, yes, it was Bob Ferguson and what a wonderful day it became. We had borrowed a tent. and scraped the neighbours. and own garden chairs together, and had invites family, friends, neighbours, and others, at a concert in the garden. Not everyone knew about Bob already, but we have received incredibly many happy, and positive feedbacks. Everyone was excited about the music and the amazing atmosphere that Bob created. It was a huge experience, and it didn't require much. Bob is highly recommended if someone has a party in mind, and I certainly don't think it's the last time we do it. and the guests are ready, I have no doubt about that. "

"A few friends and I went to see Gaelforce at the Old Grocers in Pontefract on Friday. What a fantastic talented bunch of musicians these guys are. They delivered punchy folk rock songs, which are mostly their own with a few individual interpretations of some classics throughout the night. Brilliant stuff and highly entertaining. A great venue too, and cannot wait for them to return."

"A2 Barn Dance provided a reel party for our daughter's 18th birthday party - what a night it was! They were very friendly and professional from the booking stage all the way through to the last note. They quickly realised our level of proficiency on the night and adapted their playing accordingly. In addition to being consummate musicians, they are really pleasant to deal with and supportive. I thoroughly recommend them."

Bob is a natural charmer, has a great voice and delivers many traditional, and more contemporary songs with great style. He always has fun on stage, loves to interact with guests, and uniquely can always be relied on to read the room so that audiences feel they are part of the experience. "We hired the Hoedown Band for our Xmas party and they were fantastic. They were very professional, neatly presented and they sounded great on the night. We were a small crowd but their lead singer [caller] Dawn was very interactive and educational with her dance moves. The band knew their instruments and songs very well and I would certainly recommend them."

"Thank you so much for the fabulous ceilidh on Saturday night, we had a truly memorable celebration. All our guests commented on what a fun night it was with everyone up dancing by the end! Barry was brilliant and pitched his instructions at the right level for us amateurs - the perfect mix of assertive and entertaining! The music provided by Roisin Ban was superb - you are a very talented bunch and I won’t hesitate in recommending your services. It should also be noted that Chris was excellent from our first contact. He alleviated my worries, tried hard to accommodate my late requests and quickly replied to all my messages! If you want a ceilidh band, look no further!"
