Jazz Bands for Hire in Montreux

Q: How much do jazz bands cost in Montreux?

The average cost of hiring jazz bands is CHF550, with prices from CHF160 to CHF1,850+. The main cost factors are the number of musicians in the band, performance duration and the style of jazz. Jazz groups range from duos and trios to large swing orchestras, and line-up size has the biggest impact on price.

Q: What styles of jazz can jazz bands play?

The jazz bands for hire cover a wide range of styles including swing, bossa nova, gypsy jazz, smooth jazz, bebop and New Orleans-style jazz. Some groups also perform jazz-influenced pop or Rat Pack classics. To get the best results, listen to audio samples on each band's profile to find the right style for your event.

Q: What events are jazz bands suitable for?

Hiring jazz bands is a versatile choice for many types of events. They are especially popular for wedding receptions, cocktail hours, corporate functions, private parties and gala dinners. Jazz works well as background music during dining or drinks, and can also be the featured entertainment where a more sophisticated atmosphere is desired.

Q: Are different line-up sizes available for a jazz group?

On Gig Heaven, jazz bands are available in a variety of sizes, from duos and trios up to full big band ensembles of 15 or more musicians. A smaller group such as a trio or quartet is ideal for intimate settings and lower budgets, while a larger ensemble can fill bigger venues with a richer, more dynamic sound.

Q: Do jazz bands provide their own sound equipment?

Most jazz bands are self-contained and bring their own amplification for smaller to mid-sized venues. Acoustic jazz groups may not need any amplification at all for intimate settings. For larger venues, additional PA equipment may be required. It is worth discussing sound requirements with the band before booking.

Q: Can jazz bands play background music and dance sets?

Many jazz bands are skilled at adjusting their volume and energy to suit different parts of an event. They can provide subtle background music during dinner and then shift to a more upbeat, danceable set for the evening party. It is a good idea to discuss the event flow with the band so they can plan their sets accordingly.

Trumpet Player "We had a large, high-level event at a chateau in Vevey, and we really wanted live music. I found gig heaven, listened to Simone, and put in the deposit right away. They arrived on time and were a delight for the whole event. The perfect mood setter for something like this. Will definitely hire these guys again if I host something here in the future!" Based in Genève, Canton of Geneva (40 miles from Montreux) Allyse Wesolowski - Pepperdine Univeristy

In Mission Of Tradition "The band was superb. They have a wonderful musical repertoire. Many thanks." Based in Bern, Canton of Bern (44 miles from Montreux) 20th March 2026 Willi W. - Birthday Party

Mantequilla Tropical "Fabulous music and fabulous people, what a concert! It was such a pleasure having you!!! <3" Based in Bern, Canton of Bern (44 miles from Montreux) Maja - Private Garden Party

Kymotopia "I was thrilled when Kymotopia agreed to play at our wedding, and they somehow exceeded all expectations. Jean-Nöel and Joseph were incredibly accommodating from start to finish, happily taking on special requests, including learning specific pieces especially for us, and even helping out with a few extra things on the day. We asked them to perform some of these learned pieces at key moments during the ceremony and they absolutely nailed it. "A World of Waves" (their first album) is forever going to be a musical portal for me back to that special day. These two are fantastic musicians and wonderful to work with. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough!" Based in Basel, Canton of Basel-City (84 miles from Montreux) 7th September 2026 Daniel Jacobs - Private Wedding

KoloYolo "Everything went brilliantly, super. Thank you so much!!!" Based in Bad Säckingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany (92 miles from Montreux) Alex

Tcha Simmons & Band "Perfect musical framing Cool guys, very nice bluesy groovy music with fantastic voice. Pleasant negotiation, spontaneous and uncomplicated." Translated from German Based in Unterägeri, Canton of Zug (93 miles from Montreux) 6th November 2025 Lombard Andrea - Party Concert
