Live wedding bands bring an energy to evening receptions that playlists cannot match. Professional groups are experienced at working with venues, managing sound levels for different room sizes, and keeping guests of all ages dancing. Most acts perform two or three sets of around 45 minutes, with DJ music filling the breaks, and offer extras like acoustic ceremony performances or learning your first dance song.
Start by matching band size to your venue. Duos and trios suit smaller or more intimate spaces, while four to six-piece lineups fill larger reception rooms with a fuller sound. Check demo videos to make sure the band's energy and style match the atmosphere you want. It is also worth asking about the full package: most professional acts include PA equipment, lighting, and MC services as standard, but ceremony music, extended sets, and additional musicians may be priced separately. Bands based near your venue often offer more competitive rates due to lower travel costs.
For wedding bands in the United States, fees run from $200 to $3,050+, with an average cost of $950. Band size is the biggest factor in pricing, followed by performance duration and time of year. Peak season dates from late spring through early autumn tend to carry higher rates, while midweek or off-season bookings can stretch your budget further. Ask about package deals if you want ceremony music or a late-night DJ set alongside the main performance.
The average price is $950 (USD), with most priced from $200 to $3,050+. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Yuval Agam
"We LOVED having Yuval at our wedding! He was timely, responsive, and brought an amazing vibe to our day. Definitely feel comfortable hiring Yuval for all of your music needs!"
Space Antelope - Phish tribute
"Space Antelope blew the doors off a 2.5 hour show for my husband’s 50th birthday at a local restaurant/music venue. We provided a “dream setlist” and they were able to deliver mostly everything if not for time constraints. Crowd of about 40-50 adults and even non-Phish fans were digging it. Great communication, no issues on day of the show, set up and breakdown went smoothly. But honestly the music is the draw here….too notch and just a fantastic band."
Boom Unit Brass Band
"These guys did an amazing job at the Livermush festival! It got people on their feet and attention. It’s always worth investing in live music especially when it’s a bass brand."
The Luther Vandross Experience featuring Darron Moore
"very very captivating
Excerpt describing the show in Danielle N.’s GigSalad review of an annual corporate employee appreciation event, published June 28, 2014. Original rating: 5/5, displayed here as 10/10."
Woods Creek Band
"Woods Creek Band is one of my favorite bands to listen to. I like how professional they are, and their choice of music always gets me moving to the beat. They play local gigs frequently so I can be a groupie. Go check them out."
The Wanderers
"We first enjoyed listening to The Wanderers during the pandemic. Since then, we’ve followed them to Palo Alto, Campbell, and San Pedro Square. Their song list appeals to all ages. They played at our son’s wedding in Jamestown and the music was awesome!! The dance floor never slowed down, and we all had a blast! We can’t thank them enough for making our special day even more special."
