Adding videos to your listing (via Youtube/Vimeo)
Videos let customers see and hear you in action — often more powerful than audio alone. This article covers adding videos from YouTube or Vimeo, reordering them, renaming, replacing, and deleting.
Where videos are managed
Open your listing from My Account and go to the Media tab. The video section sits alongside audio and SoundCloud options.
Adding a video
Videos are added by link, not by file upload — your video needs to be on YouTube or Vimeo first.
- Copy the link to your video from YouTube or Vimeo.
- Paste it into the video URL box on the Media tab.
- Click Add video. We’ll fetch the title and thumbnail and add it to your list.
Choosing the right videos
- Lead with your strongest. The first video is the one most people watch.
- Keep them focused. A short, well-shot clip beats a long montage.
- Show variety. If you cover different styles or line-ups, include one of each.
- Use clear titles. Let the title tell customers what’s on the video, for example Solo acoustic at The Ned or Full band — corporate awards night.
Reordering videos
Drag videos to reorder them. The new order saves as you go. The first video plays first when a customer clicks play.
Renaming a video
Click the edit icon on any video and change the title. Use something more descriptive than YouTube’s default title if it doesn’t capture the act.
Replacing a video
There isn't a "replace" button. To swap one video for another:
- Delete the old video.
- Add the new YouTube or Vimeo link.
- Drag it into the position you want.
Deleting videos
Click the delete icon on any video to remove it from your listing. The video itself stays on YouTube or Vimeo — only the link to it is removed from Gig Heaven.
If a video won’t add
The most common reasons:
- The video isn’t public or embedding is disabled. See How to make sure YouTube videos are visible on Gig Heaven.
- The link is to a channel or playlist, not an individual video. Open the video itself first, then copy that link.
- The video has been removed from YouTube or Vimeo, or marked private.
Adding audio too
Videos pair well with audio samples for customers who skim on mute or don’t want sound. See Adding and reordering audio samples.
